How to Watch Lamborghini Huracán RWD Evo Spyder's Debut Live on Your Phone

Lamborghini invites the general public to a new product launch in augmented reality, saying that it is often the first time a car manufacturer has made its debut with a replacement model in this way; all you want to see may be a newish iPhone or iPad.

Once you've joined the AR experience, you'll pretend that the new open rear-wheel drive version of the Huracon Evo Spyder is sitting in your driveway or anywhere else your phone's camera can reach.  The experiment will also allow you to see inside and outside the new Huracon at 1:1 scale, and it takes place at 7:00 a.m. EST on May 7.

Have iPhone, will travel.  Practically, at least.

Italy has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, after it was cordoned off on March 9 and has only slowly reopened now, while deaths continue to rise.  Some car production facilities, including Ferrari, have restarted some work, except for the most important evidence that things are starting to return to a normal replacement, there is a new Lamborghini that is being unveiled tomorrow.

Of course, it may not be a traditional debut filled with stage smoke and special effects lighting. It's not so exclusive either.  If you want to attend, just point your iPhone or iPad at the official Lamborghini website tomorrow at 7:00 am EST to check out the augmented reality debut of the new Huracon Evo RWD Spyder.

A fave car and driver, the new Huracon Evo already comes in RWD, AWD, and Spyder (pictured above) flavors, so an RWD Spyder plug is not the main surprising twist for the V-10 sports car lineup.  The AWD Spyder offers 640 horsepower, and Lamborghini claims a zero to 62 mph time of 3.1 seconds.  Precise technical details for the RWD Spyder will be announced at launch.

Lamborghini says this is often the main moment when a car brand will use augmented reality (AR) to virtually launch a replacement model.  The revelation will be fuelled by Apple's AR Quick Look technology, which can put a "See in AR" button on the Lamborghini website at the scheduled time.  Once it's activated, you'll be ready to project the new virtual Huracon into your own driveway or living room, or, we're sure, a few places with a more comical effect, to imagine what it could be like to park a reception with "a high level of photorealism," Lamborghini says.

Tomorrow's AR experience is not just about getting to allow Huracon humorous placements.  It also allows viewers to focus or bend down to see details on the inside and outside of the vehicle's doors up to 1:1 scale.  Lamborghini says that augmented reality functionality will come to the entire Lamborghini lineup soon.

Lamborghini was not prepared to provide C/D responses on Apple format only for this start in time for release outside of that Apple hardware must be running iOS 11 or later and have an A9 processor or later.  For phones, i.e. an iPhone 6 or later, while iPads must be iPad Pros, a fifth generation or later iPad or iPad mini, a third generation or later iPad Air, or a seventh generation iPod Touch.
